Did a Technical Error Use Up My Question?

Did a Technical Error Use Up My Question?

Short answer: your daily question is counted the moment you submit it, even if MAX returns an error or doesn't finish responding. We know that's frustrating when it happens — here's how it works and what you can do.

Why a Question Counts Even on an Error

When you hit send, MAX immediately reserves the computing power needed to answer you — that's the moment your question counts, not when the response comes back. This is how scaled AI platforms work, and it's what keeps a free tier possible: otherwise a single error could be used to bypass the daily limit by retrying, which wouldn't be fair to everyone sharing the free tier.

When Does My Free Question Reset?

If you're on Karmic Explorer (our free tier), your daily question resets at 12:00 AM Eastern Time. So if you hit an error, you'll have a fresh question the next day.

What If MAX Was Down for Everyone?

If MAX was experiencing a wider outage at the time of your question, our team can sometimes help. Ask for human support in the chat, or email [email protected] with roughly what time it happened, and we'll take a look. Goodwill question restorations are made at our discretion and aren't guaranteed, but we're always happy to check.

Want to Stop Hitting the Limit?

If you'd like more room to ask, MAX Essential and Oracle Unlimited both offer unlimited questions for everyday use (subject to the fair-use note below), so you're not waiting on a daily reset. You can explore plans at greatawakener.com/become-member.

A Note on "Unlimited"

Our paid plans are unlimited for normal, everyday use. To keep MAX fast and reliable for everyone, all plans — including unlimited ones — are subject to fair-use limits that guard against automated or unusually high-volume activity well beyond typical personal use. The vast majority of members will never come close to these limits in ordinary use.
